The Beginning of a New Journey
June 6
Day 2( Free Write)
Some people say that I should have a bucket list; that I should create wild goals to explore the impossible. Honestly, I don't think I need one. If we live our lives expecting great things to happen or if we ever doubt our capabilities such that we need a list to challenge ourselves, is it really living? I think that God doesn't want it this way. Every moment, situation, conflict, and opportunity we are given we should ultimately treat as a blessing to us and God wants us to see that. The moments we are given may seem minimal but within the realm of our lifetimes they can change us forever. I believe God gives us these moments on purpose: to change who we are, teach us lessons, and set us on the righteous paths he has for each and every individual. Personally, I am grateful for the friends, family, conflicts, and challenges God has graced me with in this life. Most recently my acceptance to the GBCS EYA UMC Washington DC internship and the beginning of the program have been the most anticipated part of my summer and a huge blessing to my life.
The experience has already been full of spiritual reflection, times of fellowship, and delicious meals. It is only day two and I have already: taken the metro with my room-mate to explore DC, had my first Thai meal, taken my first Uber ride, made connections to my local church, and studied some Methodist history. This internship sets out to be one of the best experiences of my life and I can not wait to see what's in store!
