Good afternoon fellow bloggers and readers, this week surely has been one to remember. From going to a forum and a hearing on reparations, to walking a labyrinth and hearing from God soon after. Even though so much has happened this week, I really want to focus on the things that took place today, Friday.
God really showed up and showed out in my life on today. So, let me start from the beginning. This morning all of us EYA interns went to a very nice home with an amazing, huge beautiful yard/garden. Tucked in the back of this yard was a circular labyrinth which at first at first glance looked kind of interesting; however, at the time I didn’t know that it would be the start if a really eye opening day. As we walked to the entrance of the labyrinth and we started to go in one by one a little at a time, I stood in the back and waited to go in last. I put in my headphones, turned on some worship/meditation music and began my walk.
Green lush plants guided the path way through the labyrinth, leading through twists and turns, long straight paths and some dead ends. As I walked through I just thought and meditated on some things and began to focus my mind on some issues, joys and concerns that I had and wanted to pray about. When I made it to the center it was like the Holy Spirit met me right there in that bench. As soon as I sat down and began to pray I couldn’t help but to start crying. It’s like I could almost feel the breath of God blowing a fresh revitalization right into me. I sat there for at least 30 minutes praying, crying, listening and talking to God, it truly was an overwhelming kind of experience; even though it didn’t end there.
Getting back to the Methodist Building we had a speaker who came and spoke on personal Branding. Very informative, interactive and engaging. However, the second speaker really touched me in a special way. She spoke on her job at the National Association of Community Health Centers, and her journey to where she is today, and she literally spoke what I prayed for at the labyrinth. I prayed that God would show me if my plans aligned to what he has planned for me, and I also prayed that he continue to lead me in the way he wants me to go. You guys I promise that my prayer was answered through her. She spoke directly what I was praying God reveal to me, it truly was an experience to remember.
Until Next Blog, Jaylon T.

  1. I pray Susan's work and experiences continue to speak to you and that you will find other kindred spirits who share your passion. It is a gift to hear God speaking to you. Write down the connections made and ask more questions of what is brought up within you.
